Youth entrepreneurship and training centers opened
Two projects which empower youth were opened in February 2019: Sarona Hub for aspiring entrepreneurs and The Lion and the Turkey to give struggling students vocational skills. The Tel Aviv Foundation seeks support for both projects to enable their ongoing operation and growth.
Sarona Hub is an innovation training and development center designed to nurture the next generation of the Start Up Nation. Attracting teenagers from across the city (and beyond), it provides skills training, coaching, support and space to collaborate and share ideas as they develop their innovative ideas. Sarona Hub was opened by Mayor Ron Huldai.
The Lion and the Turkey is a social enterprise which provides vocational training in catering and event management to students from the Miftan Alon High School. Miftan Alon is a school for students who have left, been expelled or given up on the formal education system. ‘The Lion and the Turkey’ provides skills training and real experience to ready students for the workforce and cultivate a sense of confidence and responsibility.
