Ron Huldai was elected as the 9th Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo in 1998 and has served the City as its Mayor since. His vision for Tel Aviv-Yafo a city known as a tourism hotspot is to position the City as a global center of innovation and creativity. Tel Aviv-Yafo is already Israel’s epicenter of pluralism and liberalism, economy and commerce, and art and culture. The city’s cultural and architectural heritage received international recognition in 2003 when the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) proclaimed the historic zone of Tel Aviv a World Cultural Heritage Site. Capitalizing on the City’s status as the center of the Israeli “Startup Nation,” Huldai aims to make Greater Tel Aviv a sort of Silicon Valley for entrepreneurs outside the U.S. Mayor Ron Huldai is married to Yael, and they have three children and eight grandchildren.
