Family Therapy Center for children and their parents
Further, the area lacks support services to effectively address these issues and the limited services which do exist are poorly used. Families seeking assistance or support often have to travel to other parts of the city, comply with various criteria, endure long waiting lists and contend with other barriers which sap whatever fragile motivation the families may have had to accept help. The community therefore requires a Family Therapy Center, similar to the ones which have been established in the neighborhoods of Yafo Gimel, Kiriat Shalom, Kfar Shalem and Shapira and proved to be highly successful.
The Center will replicate the model of other family support services which operate out of existing community centers. The operating expenses are therefore primarily comprised of staff costs: for social workers, therapists, home support workers, training, etc. In order to provide continuity to families and create a lasting impact in the community, a donation is sought to operate the Family Therapy Center for three years.
