On the eve of Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror), Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor and Tel Aviv Foundation Chairman Ron Huldai delivered a speech bridging personal grief and national responsibility, drawing from the city’s “Lighthouse Vision” – which sees Tel Aviv-Yafo as a center of freedom, democracy, and life for the Jewish people worldwide. The Mayor added that our duty to the fallen does not end with the siren; it begins with the question of how we will be worthy of them. “Our vision is to build here a shared home where we protect not only the borders, but also the trust and the spirit – even when the heart is broken.”
