HaGal Sheli new home in Jaffa, the Australia -Tel Aviv-Yafo Surf Education Center – built by the Tel Aviv Foundation and the Tel Aviv Yafo Municipality has officially opened!
The opening ceremony, held in the presence of the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Ron Huldai, and Australian Ambassador to Israel, Paul Griffiths, was a true celebration of pluralism and equality.
Utilizing surfing as an empowering educational tool, HaGal Sheli provides at-risk youth from across the city, from all communities and religions, a real opportunity to “ride the wave” to a better life, providing them, Tel Aviv-Yafo and Israel as a whole, the possibility of a better future.
The establishment of the new HaGal Sheli center, which will allow the program to expand in the city, conveys the core values of the Tel Aviv Foundation – promoting a pluralistic city, advocating for equality and opportunity for all, and fostering mutual responsibility.
