The Tel Aviv Foundation and the
Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa are transforming old and outdated
libraries to be modern, new libraries and resource centers at various
elementary, middle and high schools throughout Tel Aviv.
These new centers are being built in
neighborhoods that are comprised of low income families, with the
majority of parents not holding a high school diploma and many having a
variety of social and welfare problems. These families receive
assistance from various social service agencies.
Since the
majority of these families have no "home library" or computers connected
to the internet (due to high costs and low prioritization), there are
