Amphitheater in the Yarkon Park

Every summer the Israel Philharmonic under the direction of Maestro Zubin Mehta performs concerts for the enjoyment of Israelis and tourists in Tel Aviv's largest park, Hayarkon Park. The Israeli Opera, concerts by world-renowned entertainers, such as Madonna, Celine Dion, Julio Iglesias, Michael Jackson, U2 and many others have also taken place in the park.

During recent years, the need for a larger amphitheater, which will be able to meet the growing demand and interest, has become more obvious and urgent, mainly during the warmer season which lasts for more than six months.  Tens of thousands of Israelis from all over the country travel to Tel Aviv for these performances.

Ganei-Yehoshua Park, covering about 3,500 dunams (9000 acres) on the northern bank of the Yarkon River, every summer hosts dozens of cultural events, of different natures: classic & modern music concerts, theatre production, fashion shows, and many others. In the past year, the park has held several major Israeli events. To host all these activities, a temporary suitable stage is being built prior to each event, and then dismantled. All this at a repeatedly high cost.

The Amphitheater in the Park would create a modern and permanent home to all the many artists who use this venue to share their art with the public.
